If you're a fan of the popular app, you'll love this news. One of the new features on Snapchat is voice filters, which will help you and your friends work on your tone and pitch. If this feature sounds familiar (pun intended) you might recognize it from Snapchat Lenses, aka Spectacles — otherwise known as the cool way to turn into a screen-licking dog in an instant. Having the company expand this feature for use in the app, sans lenses, is pretty incredible.

Being able to filter your voice is pretty easy. After recording a Snap, you'll see an icon at the bottom of your screen that looks like a speaker. Once you tap it, you'll be able to choose from a variety of different character voices. Thus, your Snaps will be more fun than ever. And, bonus — it'll be the ideal way to waste time during your workday, since it's so hard to stay focused in the summer.

However, there's a reason why you might not be able to access the feature just yet, if you're wondering why you don't have voice filters on Snapchat yet. Since this cool update is one of many that Snapchat is unleashing, they're still in the midst of rolling out these features to all of their users.

Here are a few steps to take if you're still waiting.

1

Make Sure Your App Is Updated

Sometimes we assume these things will take place automatically, but alas — our smartphones often throw us for a loop. So, make sure Snapchat is updated!

2

Open And Close Snapchat

It's the Snapchat version of an "unplug/replug." But, it definitely works. Sometimes we don't even realize we still have our apps running.

3

Restart Your Phone

You might not even remember the last time you did a restart. It's a good feeling to start fresh, and it might be just the thing you need to get your Snapchat update.

4

If All Else Fails, Wait It Out
