Elyssa Goodman

Elyssa Goodman is a freelance contributor to Bustle and Elite Daily. She is a New York-based writer and photographer specializing in non-fiction writing and documentary photography. Elyssa writes under the arts and culture umbrella, about everything from body image and reproductive rights to Jell-O and drag.

Elyssa has been a freelance writer for nearly 20 years, a freelance photographer for over a decade. Her writing and photography have been published in Vogue, Vanity Fair, T: The New York Times Style Magazine, The New Yorker, Playboy, them., InsideHook, Artforum, Elle, VICE, New York, i-D, and many others. A devotee of drag for nearly 30 years, Elyssa’s first book, Glitter and Concrete: A Cultural History of Drag in New York City, will be published on September 12, 2023 by Hanover Square Press/HarperCollins and is now available for pre-order. She is also the host and curator of the Miss Manhattan Non-Fiction Reading Series. Elyssa is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University.

Elyssa is passionate about glamour in all its forms.
