Breaking Down What Makes This Perfume A Beauty Editor Favorite

“My Way is one of those scents that stops you in your tracks.”

Written by Faith Xue

There was a time in my life when louder and brighter equaled stronger (case in point: my pink-streaked hair in college and affinity for neon crop tops). Over the years, I’ve found myself gravitating towards a quieter version of strength in my personal style — softer scents, subtler silhouettes. It’s why I’ve been recently obsessed with Giorgio Armani My Way — the fragrance equivalent of walking through a field of sweetly-smelling flowers on a balmy spring day. Not to mention, the well thought-out details about this fragrance and its scent that makes My Way truly stand out.

Soft, Lingering Notes

My Way is one of those scents that stops you in your tracks; intoxicating, but not overly dramatic. It makes sense the brand would tap actress Adria Arjona as the face, because she gives off that exact effortlessly-intriguing quality. The fragrance starts off with a burst of orange blossom and bergamot, which instantly gives it a vacation vibe — something you’d want to wear when you’re fully relaxed, poolside or beachside, ideally sipping on a tropical drink with a good book in hand. But its middle notes of Indian jasmine and tuberose give it more depth, and it’s the base notes of Madagascar vanilla, white musk, and Virginian cedar that really add that intoxicating dose of warmth. Those notes linger on your skin throughout the day, wafting up at unexpected moments and making you smell delicious to anyone leaning in for a hug or kiss. There’s something sweet about the fragrance too, so if you love a gourmand scent, don’t rule this one out. Bright, sparkly, and flirty — it’s something you’d definitely want to wear on a first date (I guarantee you’ll get a compliment). The first time I spritzed My Way on, my boyfriend later startled me by inhaling my neck area deeply and asking me what I was wearing—a true test of its allure.

Sustainable, Eco-Friendly Elements

As a beauty director who witnesses thousands of new products get launched each year, sustainability is always top of mind. It’s important to me that the products I use are making at least some form of effort in sustainability, whether it’s through the sourcing of ingredients or reducing a product’s carbon footprint in the packaging process – and Giorgio Armani does both with My Way. The vanilla featured in the fragrance is sourced from Madagascar, where Armani works with Solidarity Sourcing and local NGO Fanamby to ensure a sustainable, traceable supply chain that respects the integrity of the region’s natural ecosystems and contributes to improving quality of life for farming communities. The glass bottle is recyclable, as is the plastic vaporizer, and the carton is made out of paper and cardboard that are certified as being sourced from sustainable forests.

Thoughtful, Sophisticated Packaging

The bottle, with its modern, sleek design makes it a stand out— something you’d want to proudly display on your vanity, lurking in the back of your jewelry snaps and #shelfie, or displayed front and center. The clear, glass bottle features a soft pink juice, complemented by a deep, sapphire-colored stone cap with gold accents. But the best part about it is its refillable design. The bottle and refill, in fact, enable reductions of 55% less glass and 75% less metal without losing even one drop of fragrance.

Go My Way — trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
