Sabrina Carpenter's Met Gala Bodysuit Gave Fashion Déjà Vu

The pantless style was very reminiscent of an iconic Kendall Jenner look.

While the 2025 Met Gala dress code —“Tailored for You” — is heavily inspired by traditional menswear (think suits, ties, and pants), Sabrina Carpenter went in another direction, rocking the pantless trend in a Louis Vuitton by Pharrell Williams bodysuit.

The Short n' Sweet singer says her height was the reason she went sans bottoms at this year’s event. On the blue carpet, the 5-foot-tall star told Vogue it was her dream to be styled by Williams, but the Louis Vuitton Men’s creative director said to her, “You’re quite short, so no pants for you.” Wearing just the burgundy bodysuit meant Carpenter’s legs were on full display, elongating the “Espresso” singer-songwriter as she walked up the Met steps.

Sabrina’s Tailored Bodysuit

Carpenter is no stranger to turning heads in a bodysuit. Since September, the 25-year-old has been on her Short n’ Sweet Tour, where she opens the show wearing a sparkly, lingerie-inspired number.

For her Met Gala look, Carpenter layered her pinstripe corset bodice with a classy tuxedo-like jacket featuring a high, white collar. She may not have been wearing pants, but her jacket hung down to the floor in a dramatic train.

If her outfit looks familiar, that’s because it’s similar to Kendall Jenner’s glittery black bodysuit from the 2023 Met Gala. However, the Kardashians star’s dramatic train came from the sleeves of her Marc Jacobs ensemble.

To complement her flirty 2025 Met Gala ‘fit, Carpenter wore her long blonde hair down. She achieved the look thanks to celebrity hairstylist Evanie Frausto, who used L’Oreal Professionnel’s AirLight Pro after washing her locks with Redken’s Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo and Conditioner. For glam, Carpenter rocked a smoky eye and glossy lips from Prada Beauty. To finish her look, Carpenter wore jewelry from Chopard for some added sparkle.

Will Sabrina & Barry Have A Run-In?

Carpenter and her ex, actor Barry Keoghan, were both in attendance at last year’s Met Gala, although they didn’t walk the carpet together. The two posed for photos at the top of the steps, with Carpenter wearing an orchid-inspired Oscar de la Renta gown, while the Saltburn actor sported a Burberry suit and top hat.

The two reportedly called it quits in December 2024 after an insider told People, “They are both young and career-focused, so they’ve decided to take a break.”

They haven’t been spotted together since, but both Carpenter and Keoghan walked the 2025 Met Gala carpet. This year, Keoghan honored the dress code by wearing a Valentino black suit with a red sash.

While it remains to be seen whether the two former lovers have a run-in inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art, one thing is for sure: Carpenter isn’t leaving the event without using the bathroom. She said on the blue carpet, “This is my third Met — never been to the bathroom once, because I’ve never been able to use it in my outfit.”

With a much more manageable bodysuit, the “Busy Woman” singer says she’s excited to see what it looks like inside.
