There Are A Few Ways To Stream The 2016 BAFTAs

It's time for awards season to hop skip and jump to the other side of the pond for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts' celebration of the year in film. Can you stream the 2016 BAFTA awards ceremony? Even if you live outside of the United Kingdom and other places that carry BBC, you aren't out of luck.

The show will be broadcast in the United States on Sunday Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on BBC America. It won't be live on BBCA, because the ceremony is happening at 7 p.m. in London on Sunday, which is five hours ahead of us. Comedian Stephen Fry is the host this year. Despite the academy's name, only film awards will be given out on Sunday — the television awards are in May. The film nominees are about the same as this year's Oscar nominees, with a few variations, a tad more diversity, and additional awards for Outstanding British Film and Outstanding Debut By A British Writer, Director, Or Producer, and a few British Short Film categories. There is also a "rising star" award, which I personally think the Oscars should adopt. The nominees in that category are Diary of a Teenage Girl's Bel Powley, Brie Larson, Dakota Johnson, John Boyega, and Taron Egerton — who stars in the upcoming Eddie The Eagle.

Ready to fix yourself a cup of tea and settle in with the BAFTAs? Here are a few ways to stream BBC America's broadcast on Sunday evening.

The BAFTA Website

First, you can stream the red carpet on the Academy's site at 5 p.m. in the UK and noon in the US.

Cable Streaming Services

If you have cable but find yourself on the go or unable to claim the TV from your siblings or roommates, a lot of cable companies have apps that allow you to stream live television.

BBC & iPlayer

Of course, if you live in the United Kingdom, you may already know that you can stream BBC live on their app/website after the ceremony — which, remember, starts at 7 p.m. GMT and 2 p.m. EST. You can also stream from BBC America's site if you have login information.

Social Media

Hit up Periscope! Twitter! Vine! Peach, I don't know! There are sure to be plenty of reports from inside the BAFTAs that can keep you updated in some way. So, in order to sate your appetite for shiny statues, gorgeous gowns, and more hot takes on The Martian, the BAFTAs are here for you to stream.
