Brittany Leitner

Brittany Leitner is the former senior lifestyle editor at Elite Daily and currently a freelance journalist with over 10 years of experience working in travel, beauty, health, and lifestyle. She is originally from San Antonio, Texas but has been NYC-based for the last 10 years.

Brittany holds a dual bachelor's degree in magazine journalism and English from Syracuse University and worked as the previous managing editor at The Dr. Oz Show. Her work in health journalism earned her a Digital Health Award in 2019. Her bylines appear in major women’s publications such as Bustle, Cosmopolitan, Shape, Byrdie, Oprah Daily, and many more.

Additionally, Brittany is an award-winning poet. Her poems have appeared in Palette Poetry, Gasher, New York Quarterly and her first chapbook "23 Emotions," won numerous awards, including the Sequestrum New Writer Award in 2018. She recently spent the summer studying with Pulitzer Prize winning poet Carl Phillips with a Kenyon Review residency in Ohio. When she's not writing, she's probably traveling, trying a new dance class, listening to Lana Del Rey, or making small talk with strangers. She's a true Aries sun, Leo rising, and Aquarius moon, which means there's tons of fire and she's passionate about fighting for the underdog.
