Ivana Rihter

Ivana Rihter is Bustle’s LA-based entertainment writer and reporter, covering film, TV, pop culture, and music. She loves a healthy mix of prestige TV (The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Succession) and chaos TV (Love Island, Riverdale, Too Hot to Handle, any and all teen shows). Her writing has appeared in Vogue, Allure, Nylon, Vice, i-D, Narratively, Fashionista and more. Ivana studied journalism and peace, justice and conflict at DePaul University in Chicago, focusing her writing on social justice and underground communities. She was the founding Editor-in-Chief of the award-winning 14 East Magazine, also winning the SPJ award for Best In-Depth Reporting for her story on the men incarcerated at Statesville Prison and the Peter Lisagor award for Best Sports Reporting (despite not knowing much about sports). Ivana left Chicago behind for New York after getting hired at Vogue to cover beauty, health and wellness. Now, she resides in Silverlake with her partner and their three-legged cat Scampi. In her spare time, she is usually making cute vases at the pottery studio, taking backpacking trips or baking traditional Balkan cuisine whenever she is homesick for her native Macedonia.
